  CoP-PPLD

CoP-PPLD The concept of “Community of Practice” (CoP) has emerged within development communities to strengthen the connections among likeminded persons who seek to improve, through joint actions and collaborations, both knowledge and practice. The CoP for Pro-poor Livestock Development (CoP-PPLD) intends to be a global and inclusive partnership of practitioners, managers, researchers and other actors involved in livestock development that want to exchange experiences,manage relevant knowledge, and support learning across countries and institutions as an instrument to achieve better results. The launching and pilot phase of the CoP-PPLD have been supported and facilitated by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), with the kind contribution of the Government of Italy and of the Government of Finland.

  :: Welcome to BRAC ::

:: Welcome to BRAC :: About BRAC   Through its years of struggle against chronic deprivation, hunger and injustice, Bangladesh has been home to many innovations in tackling poverty. BRAC, a development organisation founded by Fazle Hasan Abed in February 1972, soon after the liberation of Bangladesh, has acted as both the initiator and catalyst for many such innovations and change. Our initial focus was on assisting the refugees returning from India to their newly independent country. In 1973, we broadened our focus to long term sustainable poverty reduction. Over the course of our evolution, BRAC has established itself as a pioneer in recognising and tackling the different dimensions of poverty. Our unique, holistic approach to poverty alleviation and empowerment of the poor encompasses a range of core programmes in economic and social development, health, education, and human rights and legal services. Today, BRAC is the largest southern NGO and employs more than 100,000 people, the majority of which are women, and reaches more than 110 million people with our development interventions in Asia and Africa.

  Welcome to Intercooperation INDIA

Welcome to Intercooperation INDIA Intercooperation has been working in India since 1982, as a project management and implementation partner of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, SDC. Our early experience focused on the livestock and dairy sector. Intercooperation provided technical expertise and helped establish a series of bilateral projects with state governments in Kerala, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Sikkim. The collaborations have been marked by a high degree of mutual trust and recognition of Intercooperation's thematic competencies. They created a strong base for expanding our partnerships to other sectors and with other civil society organisations. Intercooperation now works with governments, technical and research organisations, NGOsand Community  Based Organisations (CBOs) on initiatives in natural resource management for sustainable livelihoods. In all our work we seek to support gender balanced, equitable development, focusing on the poor and marginalized.
